Music/Lyric Throwdown!

Ok, so throwdown may be a bit too competitive of a title for this idea since this isn't a competition, but here is the premise:

First, the Mirth and Matter writers write some lyrics. Extra points ("points") if you use a post topic as the subject or jumping off point for your lyrics.

Then . . .

Mirth and Matter composers are randomly assigned someone else's lyrics and write a song with those lyrics. The resulting recordings (they can be rough!) will be hosted for the enjoyment of all. If you have no means of recording the song, we can post sheet music. (If you can't record the song, write it in sheet music, or otherwise convey the music in an electronic medium, well, you can participate, but it would be for your own personal satisfaction.)

If you are both a writer and a composer, you can choose either or both (but you won't be getting your own lyrics, that would be unfair).

Respond in the comments if you are interested and if so what role you would like. Further instructions will come in the form of another post or an update to this one.

i'd like to accompany some lyrics on fretless bass guitar is that all it takes to be a composer?

Yes, that counts as a composer, if your idea of composing is whistling a tune while shelving tampons at the Grand Union.

Shelving tampons at the Duane Reade. The Grand Union is gone. Get with it, Chris.

Chris, if you are still looking for a lyricist, I can contribute—I can't vouch for the quality though!
